Annapurna Circuit Trek: A Classical Jounrey of the Annapurna

The Annapurna Circuit Trek is an exhilarating trekking package that is highly recommended as a must-do experience in one's lifetime. It serves as the backbone of Nepali adventure trekking, alongside the Everest Base Camp, Langtang Valley, and Manaslu Circuit Trek, and is equally renowned as one of the world's premier trekking destinations. This journey encircles the world's 10th-highest peak, Annapurna I (8091m), and the entire Annapurna Massif in a solo expedition that begins at lower elevations and ascends to the Thorong La Pass (5416m), before descending into the arid Himalayan terrain of Mustang. Here, you will experience the world's deepest gorge, flanked by the two towering peaks, Annapurna (8091m) and Dhaulagiri (8167m).

The 18-day Annapurna Trek is a comprehensive journey that offers one of the most thrilling and rewarding experiences among moderately challenging treks. Known as the classical trek, it begins at Jagat Village after a scenic drive from Kathmandu. You will start your trek on foot at Jagat Village, following the cool and picturesque Marshyandi River Valley, where you can enjoy the lush vegetation, stunning landscapes, charming villages, and vibrant local tea houses that showcase their rich culture and warm hospitality. Throughout the trek, you will encounter various climates and the diverse ethnic cultures of Gurung, Manangi, Thakali, and Tibetan people, spending nights in local villages and experiencing a culture that harmonizes with nature. You will stay in Dharapani, Chame, and Pisang, where you can observe different types of vegetation, agriculture, and landscapes. As you progress day by day, the mountains draw closer, and the terrain becomes drier beyond Pisang Village. Trekking to Gyaru Village, an ancient Tibetan settlement, you will witness Tibetan culture and breathtaking views of the Annapurna range, which greets you with its beautiful visage.

Leaving behind Gyaru, you will continue to Ngawal Village and finally reach Manang Village, one of the most culturally rich and stunning locations on the Annapurna Circuit trek, featuring ancient monasteries, forts, and a vibrant culture intertwined with nature. Here, you will spend two nights acclimatizing and hike to Ice Lake and other attractions. Afterward, you will proceed to Thorong La Pass at 5,416 meters, one of the most challenging passes in the region, where the mountain and glacier scenery will provide a refreshing and blissful experience, marking a lifetime journey. Standing at the summit, you will savor the moment and capture it on camera to share with your loved ones. The descent leads to Muktinath Village, renowned for its culture, temples, monasteries, and stunning arid Himalayan landscapes, along with views of the Kaligandaki River Valley and the Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri mountains. Trekking through the mysterious and mythical landscape, you will pass through Lubra Village, an ancient Tibetan settlement, where Discover the ancient Bon religion practiced in the stunning Thakali villages of Jomsom and Marpha. Trek down to Kalopani and Tatopani along the Kali Gandaki, the world's deepest gorge, and experience breathtaking landscapes that many trekkers overlook.

Next, journey to Ghorepani, Poon Hill, and Ghandruk to witness the stunning beauty of lush green valleys and majestic mountain views during sunrise and sunset, while exploring the Gurung and Magar villages. Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is one of the most scenic Short Trek in Annapurna that you can cover in this epic jounrey. Conclude your adventure in Pokhara.
