Day 01:

Shivapuri Day Hiking in Kathmandu : 18km, 6-7 hours

The Shivapuri hiking experience commences in Kathmandu, with hotel pickup and drop-off at Budanilkhantha, where the peaceful Vishnu temple is located. This temple carries both spiritual and historical significance. The adventure begins after breakfast, with a drive that takes about 30 to 45 minutes. Lord Vishnu is celebrated as the guardian of the universe, upholding dharma and restoring cosmic order. After a short exploration, we will start our hike after 20 minutes, reaching Pani Muhan to acquire national park permits before heading to Shivapuri Peak (2732m). The journey features a steady ascent through lush green forests and steep stone paths, taking around 3 hours to reach the summit. Near the peak, there is a magnificent viewpoint that offers stunning views of the mountain peaks, valleys, and Kathmandu. After enjoying this wonderful moment, we will descend to Bagdhawar, the starting point of the Bagmati River, and continue our descent to the nunnery monastery, which serves as a school for female nuns. Depending on your interests, we can then trek to Pani Muhan, Tarevir, or Kapan. The trip will conclude with a drop-off at your hotel, and we will have lunch during the journey.
