Following breakfast, you will board the jeep and head to Ulleri village, enjoying the stunning views of the mountains, charming villages, and beautiful landscapes along the way. Once we reach Birethanti, we will need to pause for permit entry and then continue along the Modi Khola River, heading towards the Upper Villages, which is an ancient Ulleri village known for its unique culture and hospitality. We will stop for lunch here, and after our meal, we will begin our trek to Ghorepani via Banthanti and Nangge Thati, traversing through rhododendron and oak forests. This trek is particularly beautiful in spring when the flowers bloom, and in autumn, it offers dense forests, streams, and waterfalls. The trek takes approximately four hours to reach Ghorepani, which is renowned for its cultural richness and breathtaking mountain views. This stunning Gurung village provides warm hospitality and the best views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. The name Ghorepani translates to 'horse water'; historically, this trail was used for salt routes, and at that time, water was supplied with the help of horses, which is how this place got its name. We will spend our first night in this beautiful village, experiencing the local culture.
Rise early in the morning to experience the breathtaking sunrise from Poon Hill (3210m), the highest point of the short Ghorepani Poon Hill trek. It takes about an hour to reach Poon Hill from Ghorepani. This location is renowned as the premier viewpoint of the Annapurna trek, where you can observe over 25 distinct peaks, including Dhaulagiri (8167m), one of the seven highest mountains in the world, and the Annapurna range, home to Annapurna I (8091m), the tenth highest mountain. You will be able to see Machhapuchhre, Nilgiri, Mardi Himal, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Annapurna I, Dhaulagiri I, and others illuminated by the first rays of the sun. After capturing stunning photographs of the magnificent scenery, trek back to Ghorepani for breakfast. Following breakfast, continue your trek to Thapa La, where this journey presents the best views of the mountains and the dense rhododendron forest, which appears stunning and tranquil. Next, trek to Deurali, then descend to Banthanti, followed by another descent to Powerhouse, and finally ascend to Tadapani (2650m) after crossing the stream. This journey offers spectacular views of mountains, waterfalls, streams, and lush green forests. The village of Tadapani, inhabited by the Gurung community, provides excellent views of the mountains and a rich cultural experience.
Today marks the final day of the three-day Ghorepani Poon Hill trek. Wake up to stunning views, soothing sounds, and majestic mountain scenery. Prepare yourself for breakfast. Enjoy a warm meal before getting your backpack ready to continue your journey to Ghandruk village via Bhaisi Kharka. This journey offers a peaceful trail with fewer trekkers and large forests. Once you reach Bhaisi Kharka, the trail descends steeply. Although the views may not be spectacular, the tranquility and peacefulness of the trail, where you may encounter birds and monkeys, make it worthwhile. After a 3-4 hour trek, you will arrive at Ghandruk village. The name Ghandruk is derived from the large forest, but it is also an ancient Gurung village where you can witness stunning ancient buildings and breathtaking mountain views, including Fish Tail, Annapurna III, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and other towering snow-capped peaks. Take a moment to appreciate the scenery and enjoy lunch here. After lunch, a short trek will lead you to a car or jeep that will take you back to Pokhara, concluding your trek. The jeep ride also offers beautiful views of the villages, terraced fields, river valleys, and landscapes.
